This is the first checklist of macroalgae since 1937. The list of taxa includes relevant synonyms. It comprises 1100 taxa occurring in fresh, brackish and seawaters. A macroalgae in defined as: 1) multicellular algae 2) unicellular algae living in colonies which are macroscopically visible It comprises Nostocophyceae, Bangiophyceae, Chrysophyceae, Fucophyceae, Tribophyceae, Prasinophyceae, Charophyceae and Chlorophyceae. DE TRÄDBÄRANDE IMPEDIMENTENS BETYDELSE FÖR RÖDLISTADE ARTER
[The importance of non-productive woodland for red-listed species]
Cederberg B., B. Ehnström, U. Gärdenfors, T. Hallingbäck, T. Ingelög and M. Tjernberg, 1997
ArtDatabanken Rapporterar is a new report-series issued by the Swedish Threatened Species Unit. The first volume evaluates the importance of the tree bearing non-productive land in forested areas to red-listed species, i.e. wasteland where the total volume (over bark) growth capacity is less than 1 m2/ha-yr. There are major differences in species composition as well as differences in other biological parameters between forests growing on fertile soils and this non-productive woodland. Only a very small portion (approximately 2%) of the forest red-listed species live mainly in the non-productive woodland. To these species this habitat is crucial for survival. For an additional 5 % of the red-listed species non-productive woodland is of some importance.
