Publications
An important task for the Swedish Species Information Centre (Swe. ArtDatabanken) is to spread information about biodiversity in Sweden. Mostly we concentrate on the red-listed species, i.e. species exposed to the risk of disappearing from Sweden. These species are described in so called Red Lists, which contains information about biotope, main distribution and degree of threat. On this site you may use the searchable database of these Red Lists and fact-sheets. However, to get the full version you should to order the printed copy. All publications are price-reduced, in order to make it possible for as many persons as possible to read them.
Below you will find these Red Lists as well as all other books about biodiversity published by the Swedish Species Information Centre.

RÖDLISTADE ARTER I SVERIGE 2005 - THE 2005 REDLIST OF SWEDISH SPECIES
Ed.: Gärdenfors, U., 2005 The 2005 Red List of Swedish Species is an account of animal, plant and fungi species whose populations in Sweden are considered not to be viable in a long-term perspective. The assessments are based on the IUCN Red List Criteria. The 2005 Red List is the result of a two-year project in which the Swedish Species Information Centre and its 15 Expert Committees have analysed the situation of 20,000 species. The Red List includes 3,653 species, 1,664 of which are classified as threatened. A separate table presents all species that are protected or appear on the global Red List, in international conventions or in EU legislation.
