Welcome to the IUCN Species Survival Commission Bryophyte Specialist Group website, kindly housed by the Swedish Threatened Species Unit.

In these pages you will find the 1999 IUCN World Red List of Bryophytes proposed by the members of the IUCN/SSC Bryophyte Specialist Group, and compiled by Dr. Benito C. Tan, Dr. Patricia Geissler, Mr. Tomas Hallingbäck, and Dr. Lars Söderström.

All relevant comments are welcome and will be considered in the coming revisions. We would very much like to get suggestions on either additional species or species which should be excluded, as well as comments on the text, references, localities etc.
